The next meeting is our new year walk and lunch. Nora has sent the following information, please let her know if you intend to go

Meet as indicated on the program, in the car park at the end of Sandall Beat Rd  DN2 6JP ready to set off at 10.30am prompt. If the car park is full you can park down the edge of the access road. The intention is to go over the bridge and do a circular walk up to Cantley Park and back, returning to the car park round about 12.30 pm to give us time to get to the House Martin  before 1 pm when the table is booked for. Please let me know if you’re intending to come for lunch by the end of Thursday 4th. If you are not interested in the walk, joining just for lunch is an option. The menu is on their website so you can see if there is anything you would like to eat beforehand. The carvery is very popular and vegetarians can choose either to have a meat free carvery or have a vegetarian option to meat, which has to be cooked after ordering. When it’s ready you can then collect your vegetables. Note sandwiches and Jacket potatoes are only available Mon -Friday.

The route follows clear woodland paths except for the newly repaired bridge which has several steps up and down but now has non- slip steps and a good handrail. In places the path may be muddy if we have had rain on previous days.

The  post code for the House Martin is DN2 4NB. This is on Wheatley Hall Rd almost opposite Costa drive though cafe. It has its own car park which isn’t very big but a larger car park  to service Dunhelm  can be found to the right.
