FUNERAL OF MR. G. BISAT.
The funeral took place at Doncaster yesterday of Mr. George Bisat, aged 83, a prominent Churchman and past president of Doncaster and District Master Printers’ Association and Doncaster Scientific Society. Service in the Parish Church was taken by Archdeacon Sandford and Canon R. Brook, Vicar of Doncaster.

Founder of Doncaster Scientific Society
Mr Mathew Henry Stiles, the oldest chemist in Doncaster, a founder of the Doncaster Scientific Society in 1880, has died at his home in Avenue Road, Doncaster aged 88. He retired in 1917 and had kept a complete record of rainfall in Doncaster for over 30 years.
He was interested in several branches of science, his speciality being photo-microscopy, though to use his own phrase, he “had a certain acquaintance with geology, botany, physics and optics”. He made a telescope when he was 15. He was a life vice-president of Doncaster Scientific Society and still played golf when he was 80.
The funeral will be at Doncaster today, following a service in the parish church at 2 p.m.
