After the general meeting the members and associates of the union, together with a numerous and fashionable assembly of the residents of Doncaster, to whom 400 invitations had been issued, were entertained in the Mansion House to a conversazione by the Doncaster Microscopical and General Scientific Society. The room was prettily decorated with plants, kindly lent by Mr. Keyworth, of High Street.
A representative collection of microscopes and other scientific apparatus was on view. The programme was diversified by selections of music by Mr. Kirks string band, under the leadership of Mr. Reasbeck.
